Joanne Stronach

Joanne Stronach is a Partner working within the firm’s Employment department with a particular expertise in complex discrimination cases. She joined Burnetts in June 2001.
 
Joanne has experience in all aspects of employment law, both advisory and litigious.  During her time at the Department of Social Security she developed a specialism in equal opportunities issues.

She has particular knowledge of the education sector and has acted as Clerk to the Board of Governors for three separate northern colleges. Recently, she advised colleges on harmonising pay structures, job evaluation and introducing new employment contracts.

Joanne has regularly been involved in providing corporate support on employment issues which affected hundreds of employees.  She also has considerable advocacy experience in Employment Tribunals having acted in cases lasting up to ten days and has appeared throughout the U.K.

She is an accomplished speaker on topics such as equal opportunities, bullying and stress in the workplace, sickness absence, maternity and parental issues as well as data protection and freedom of information. Joanne has appeared as a guest speaker at the Football Premier League’s Personnel Managers’ Forum.
