Patricia HallPartnerPatricia is a partner in Burnetts’ dispute resolution department. After attending Oxford University as a scholar, Patricia was articled to a firm in Reading and qualified as a solicitor in 1981. She joined Burnetts the same year, and became a partner in 1985. Patricia has a wealth of experience in heavyweight litigation, including trust matters and professional negligence claims against accountants, solicitors and surveyors. She is a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association (PNLA) and has conducted Judicial Review cases, both in the education sector and elsewhere. In 1990 she was appointed to sit as Deputy District Judge of the County and High Court. She has sat as a Judge in Manchester, Liverpool and Preston, as well as a number of satellite courts. Patricia has particular experience in the education sector, dealing with complaints, claims and grievances from students as well as disciplinary matters and disability discrimination issues. Despite her academic bent, Patricia is a pragmatic lawyer who is aware of the potential disadvantages of traditional litigation. She is enthusiastic for any change that promises to improve the system. In particular, she has successfully employed Alternative Dispute Resolution (mediation). |
