Legal issues with employees can eat up management time as well as money, so Burnetts has developed a new service for clients to minimise the costs of dealing with some of your employment law problems, without compromising on the high quality service you expect from Burnetts.

Working with Bluefin, Burnetts has developed a specialist insurance product to cover the cost of your legal fees and potential compensation if an employee brings an employment tribunal claim against you or if you are defending an action being brought by the Health & Safety Executive.

Competitive rates, based on our track record

Our success at dealing with these claims and our experience means we can arrange Burnetts’ Business Legal Insurance cover at a competitive rate for our clients through an award-winning insurer.

Features of our business legal policy include:

• Up to £100,000 of cover (to cover legal fees as well as any compensation payment if an employee wins a claim against you)

• Continued support from the solicitors who know you and your business, rather than call-centres

• No long-term contract so you have flexibility to shop around annually.

Additional, non-standard features

Because we have an in-depth knowledge of employment law and which events might trigger an employment tribunal claim, the policy we’ve negotiated includes special extras which you won’t find in standard policies such as cover for increasingly common claims arising out of the transfer of a business or service (known as “TUPE”).
