Cumbrian Lawyers Move East for Expansion

While many legal firms across England are downsizing, one Cumbrian firm of solicitors is heading east to expand.

Burnetts Solicitors from Carlisle is opening an office on Newcastle’s prestigious Quayside which will allow the firm to develop and service its base of clinical negligence clients in the North East.

The move follows the hire of Newcastle lawyer Angela Curran who joined Burnetts earlier this year from Irwin Mitchell. Angela is an expert in the sensitive area of birth trauma cases, working extensively with children with cerebral palsy. She is also a Trustee of the North East Special Needs Network and a member of the Appeal Committee of Percy Hedley School, a specialist school for children with cerebral palsy, children with hearing or visual impairments and children with speech, language and communication difficulties. She lives in Newcastle.  

Angela said, “After many years of clinical negligence work, I have a lot of clients and contacts in Newcastle and it was important to me and to Burnetts to ensure it was easy for them to keep in touch. It’s much better for clients when you are on their doorstep and the Quayside location makes it very convenient for people in the north east to get access to our expertise.”
