David McGill

Practising Consultant

David McGill is an Practising Consultant working in Burnetts’ Corporate Law department.

He completed his training with Eversheds where he qualified in 1995 before joining the Newcastle office of Watson Burton. He joined Burnetts in 2005.

Law is David’s second career. By the time he joined this profession he had already enjoyed corporate success as a sales and marketing director with major national food companies including FMC (Meat) Ltd and Hillsdown Seafoods Ltd. He has degrees in French and German and an MBA from University of Strathclyde Graduate Business School as well as an MA in Legal Studies.

Working mostly with flourishing, privately-owned companies across Cumbria and North East England, David specialises in company and business acquisitions and disposals and general company law matters. He also advises on a range of commercial matters including shareholder and partnership agreements.

David also advises on superyacht matters, covering new build contracts, sales and acquisitions and registrations.
