Help for Sufferers of Medical Accidents

A series of free Open Days at a Cumbria solicitors aims to give people who have suffered medical accidents an opportunity to talk through their concerns.

The medical law team of Burnetts in Carlisle is hosting the informal Open Days at its Rosehill office from 12pm – 4pm on Tuesday 2nd September, Tuesday 7th October and Tuesday 4th November

The six-strong Burnetts team includes specialists on mistreatment or misdiagnosis in birth-related trauma, gynaecological problems, cancers, cosmetic surgery and orthopaedics.

Visitors to the Open Days will be given free confidential advice on their options following treatment they have had from a doctor, dentist, nurse or other health care professional. Appointments are not necessary. Visitors looking for advice are welcome to just turn up. The 30 minute sessions are free.

Head of Medical Law Vicki Jagger said, “When mistakes are made by medical professionals, the results can devastating. Our clients often feel let down and angry as well as distressed. Frequently, they want nothing more than an explanation or an apology.  These Open Days are aimed at those (and their families) who have suffered through clinical negligence. Our aim is to make people aware of their options whether they want answers, a change in procedures or even financial compensation.”

Burnetts is one of only two firms in Cumbria which can offer legal aid to help fund clinical negligence claims.
