Jonathan MarshallPartnerConstruction and engineering law specialist Jonathan Marshall joined Burnetts as a Partner in 2007. A former partner at national firm Eversheds and Ward Hadaway, Jonathan has worked exclusively in construction and engineering law since 1990. He specialises in drafting and negotiating development contracts and has advised on PFI deals, local authorities, educational establishments and nuclear-based organisations as well as working with major contractors, sub contractors and the full range of consultants involved in large construction projects. Jonathan also has dual skills in dispute resolution and is an accredited Mediator. He has provided adjudication and mediation services for international engineering, shipping and offshore clients. Working alongside both the Commercial Property and the Dispute Resolution departments, Jonathan’s work at Burnetts has included construction advice on multi-million pound property developments at Carlisle College, Blackburn College and the Nuclear Academy, Cumbria as well as guidance on construction and engineering related contract disputes. Newcastle-born Jonathan is the regional Co-ordinator of the PPC 2000 User Group, an industry committee which promotes a cooperative, partnering approach to construction project contracts. He has a particular interest in environmental issues and is Burnetts’ Sustainability Partner. He is also a judge for the Constructing Excellence and the RICS Renaissance Building Awards. |
