Burnetts’ licensing expertise developed from the firm’s experience in the sale and acquisition of licensed properties.

Now, Burnetts regularly advises hospitality, retail, facilities managers (like education clients) or event management companies on their licensable activities as well as liaising, on clients’ behalf, with local authorities to submit personal and premises license applications along with operating schedules.

Since new legislation came into force in November 2005, an increasing part of our work has been in successfully securing Temporary Event Notices. 

The licensing department is headed by Alan Chapman who has written articles and given presentations on licensing law and practice.
