Monthly master-class for busy bosses

Carlisle law firm, Burnetts is to host a series of monthly master-classes to help busy bosses with employment law.

The master-classes will be held in Burnetts’ Library at their Victoria Place office from 4pm to 6.30pm on the last Thursday of each month. Senior experts from Burnetts’ employment law team will be presenting the sessions which cost £30 each plus VAT per delegate.

The  Autumn series begins with Joanne Stronach’s Age Discrimination Master-class on 28th September.  The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 come into force in just a few weeks time and yet many employers are still unsure about the day to day implications for their organisations. 

On October 26th Kuba Strycharczyk will talk about Foreign Workers. Cumbria has been a popular destination for foreign workers and this session explains the procedures employers should follow when employing foreign workers as well their duties under the Immigration and Asylum Act 1986.

Natalie Ruane and Katie Wood will be discussing Family Friendly Employment Issues on 30th November and explaining the Work and Families Act 2006 which, from early next year, brings new rights for parents and new responsibilities for businesses.

As well as a presentation on relevant employment law, there will also be a practical workshop session.
