Promotion for “Brilliant” LawyersTwo local solicitors have been promoted by Cumbria’s biggest legal firm. Commercial lawyers Hazel Phillips and Caroline Redhead have both been made Associates at Burnetts which has offices in Carlisle and Newcastle. Hazel is an expert in employment law, advising clients on employment contracts, disciplinary and dismissal procedures and employment tribunals. She joined Burnetts from Shakespeares in Birmingham in 2006. She is a regular guest on BBC Radio Cumbria, a frequent user of Twitter (Follow her at www.twitter.com/EmpLawyer.) and the author of Burnetts’ monthly employment law e-bulletin. Caroline began her career in the corporate/commercial department of Newcastle’s Dickinson Dees before moving to the Hong Kong office of the international law firm Slaughter and May. Since joining Burnetts, Caroline has focussed on commercial work, particularly for the firm’s higher education clients, as well as on charity law issues and general governance matters.
