Promotion for Penrith Solicitor

A Penrith solicitor has been promoted by a Carlisle law firm.

Employment law specialist Katie Sinclair has been promoted to Associate by Burnetts.

Katie came to Cumbria as a child, but moved away to study. She qualified as a barrister in London and New York and worked in South East England before returning to Cumbria to join Burnetts in 2006.

As one of Burnetts’ six-solicitor employment law team, the majority of Katie’s work involves advising companies and organisations about disciplinary and grievance procedures as well as recruitment and redundancy. 

Tom Leach is Burnetts’ Managing Partner. He said, “Katie is well-liked by clients because she is thorough and hard-working as well as being friendly and approachable. She’s also played her part at the employment team’s seminars and, as Chair of the Burnetts’ Social Committee, she has contributed to the firm inside and outside of the office. The Partners were unanimous in agreeing her promotion.”

Katie, who is Treasurer of the Carlisle & District Law Society, said, “I’ve worked hard because I’m committed to the firm and to the area and I can see myself progressing here. There is nowhere else I would want to work.”
