A prestigious guide to the UK legal profession has recognised nine of the County’s lawyers as leaders in their specialist fields. Eight of those ranked are solicitors at Burnetts in Carlisle.

In the 2012 edition of Chambers and Partners, which was launched this week in London, Cumbrian experts in employment, “real estate”, agriculture, education, family law, personal injury and clinical negligence were warmly recommended.

The firm’s medical law team was particularly acclaimed. Described as the “go-to practice”, the nine-strong legal team was highlighted for its excellent reputation for client service and its meticulous investigations.  All three of the team’s partners were recommended with Head of Medical Law Vicki Jagger being described as “highly experienced and enormously thoughtful.” Victoria Watson was described as “exceptional” and Newcastle-based Angela Curran as a “genuine specialist”.

For the first time, the firm was ranked in personal injury. The team, led by “friendly, helpful and approachable” Nick Gutteridge was described as “well-organised, professional and accommodating”.

Burnetts’ Senior Partner, the “incisive and practical” John Morris was recommended for his employment law expertise.
