Reception Celebrates Growth

A Carlisle solicitors firm is this month hosting a special reception to celebrate the growth and re-location of one of its leading teams.

The Medical Law team of Burnetts Solicitors has moved from the city's Victoria Place to purpose-built offices at Rosehill. The move, to be celebrated during a drinks reception on Wednesday 8th March from 4pm to 6.30pm will allow the team to double in size and will make practical improvements for clients.

As well as needing more offices for new specialist lawyers, the extra space also means there is room to store the huge volume of paperwork which supports each client's case.

Vicki Jagger is head of Medical Law and one of Burnetts Partners. She said, "Some of our cases are developed over years and may involve a lifetime's medical history. They usually entail a great deal of paperwork which we can now sort and store easily, but most important is the benefit to our clients. The nature of our work means many of our clients are disabled or have disabled children – convenient parking and a fully accessible building are essential."

Burnetts Medical Law team has a national reputation for its expertise in helping victims of medical accidents and clinical negligence. Vicki Jagger is the only solicitor in Cumbria to be accredited by both the charity Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA) and the Law Society's Clinical Negligence Panel.  She specialises in complex cases, especially for children with birth related problems and has successfully recovered multi million pound damages for this type of claim.

More than 30 guests are expected to attend the reception. Representatives from local charities, voluntary sector organisations and local businesses will be amongst those attending.

Notes to Editor:
