Redundancy Reckoner Goes Live

As redundancies continue to rise, a Cumbrian firm of solicitors has developed a free redundancy pay reckoner for its website.

Burnetts in Carlisle has added a new redundancy section to its website in response to a growth in redundancy-related internet searches and increasing enquiries to its employment law specialists.

The section includes a redundancy calculator which works out how much statutory redundancy pay is due based on an employee’s age, years of service and weekly pay. There are also links to articles for employers on managing redundancy procedures and making changes to employment contracts.

Joanne Stronach a Partner in Burnetts six strong employment law team said, “We have seen a big increase in enquiries from employers and employees about redundancy, compromise agreements and changes to terms and conditions. Over the coming months, we’re also expecting a growth in claims of unfair dismissal as workers who have been made redundant begin to question whether the process was carried out properly.”
