Risk and Responsibility Training for Directors

Directors of limited companies will get an overview of their legal responsibilities and personal liabilities in a focussed briefing being hosted by a Cumbrian legal firm.

Burnetts in Carlisle is holding a Directors’ Briefing from 9.30am – 1pm on Thursday 26th February in the Library of their Victoria Place offices. The session will cost £50 plus VAT.

The theme of the Briefing will be the practical implications for directors of legislation such as the Companies Act 2006 and the Money Laundering Regulations. There will also be advice on personal liability and claims against directors and a presentation on insolvency and disqualification.

The Directors’ Briefing will be presented by specialists in company law from Burnetts and chaired by Head of Corporate Law, John Noctor. Speakers include Partners Vaughan Jones and Tom Leach, Associate Sam Lyon and Solicitor Caroline Redhead.

Vaughan said, “It is a time consuming burden for directors to keep up to date with the legislation relevant to them, but this session aims to be appropriate and practical. There isn’t a lot of good news, but it’s important that company directors know the full extent of their responsibilities and liabilities. This focussed session will give them an overview of the latest legislation and its real-world implications.”
