Sam Lyon

Associate Solicitor

Sam Lyon works in Burnetts’ corporate law department, advising small businesses and charities on company legal procedures, contracts, business sales and acquisitions and property.

Originally from Wigton, Sam read Law and Accounting at Newcastle University. He returned to the county in 2004 to train as a solicitor with Burnetts, qualifying in 2006. He was promoted to Associate in 2008.

He has particular experience with retail businesses and the construction sector. A keen five-a-side footballer, one of his first jobs as a newly qualified solicitor was advising Carlisle United on the lease of their new BS2 shop in the nearby Lanes Shopping Centre.

Sam is coordinator for Burnetts’ Lawyers for your Business scheme which provides free legal advice to start up businesses.
