Special briefing for Baby BoomersA Carlisle solicitors firm is hosting a free legal briefing for the county’s baby boomers. Burnetts is hosting the Baby Boomers Briefing at Carlisle Racecourse on the evening of 22nd April 2008. As well as plenty of opportunities for informal one-to-one time with Burnetts’ legal experts, there will also be short presentations aimed at fifty and sixty-somethings. Family law expert Simon Mortimer will be talking about grandparents’ rights and contact issues. Head of Trusts Martyn Wrightson will be explaining the changes to Powers of Attorney and the importance of wills. Finally, Angela Murray from Age Concern Eden will be joining Burnetts’ Nick Gutteridge for a presentation on claiming back nursing home fees which have been wrongly charged. Burnetts Managing Partner, Tom Leach, a baby boomer himself said, “Very often people in my generation are shouldering responsibilities at each end of the family spectrum. As well as having elderly parents to care for, we might also be taking an active role in looking after grandchildren. It’s no surprise that we are not that well-prepared with our inheritance or retirement planning! This event is a chance for people in their 50s and 60s to get a face-to-face insight into the legal issues affecting them.” The free event takes place from 5.15pm to 8pm at Carlisle Racecourse. A light hot supper is included so booking is essential. For further information or to make a booking, contact Angela Huck on 01228 552222 or download a booking form from the events pages. 20h March, 2008 |
