Sam Lyon works in Burnetts’ business law department, advising corporate and other business clients on company legal procedures, contracts, business sales, acquisitions and property.
He read Law and Accounting at Newcastle University before returning to Cumbria to train as a solicitor with Burnetts. He became a Partner in 2012.
The alternative and renewable energy sector is an area of particular interest to Sam, who has advised on the legal issues around the successful development and operation of both hydro and anaerobic digestion schemes as well as those surrounding the sale of a company operating in the offshore-wind industry. He has advised a number of investors in the sector.
Sam is a governor of the Richard Rose Federation, which oversees the running of two academy secondary schools in Carlisle.
A fan of most sports, Sam is father to twin boys.
