Tony specialises in commercial property and estate development work in both private and public sectors. 

Before qualifying as a solicitor Tony practised as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with a firm of solicitors in Portsmouth, Hampshire.  

Having already obtained a wealth of practical experience Tony joined Burnetts in 1990 at the same time as qualifying as a solicitor.   Now a partner and Head of Property, his work includes:

• Sale and purchase of businesses.

• Drafting/negotiation/renewal of business leases.

• Estate development (industrial and residential).

• Acquisition/sale of multi-let investment property.

• Option agreements.

• Securities.

• Renewable energy projects.

Renewable energy has increased significantly over the past few years and as part of the Burnetts Energy Team, Tony advises both private land owners and developers.  This is a specialised area of the law and projects worked on include hydro-electric, AD, biomass, PV panels and wind turbines.

Having worked on many different developments over the years, Tony has acquired an in depth knowledge of commercial landlord and tenant law and expertise in complex technical leasing issues.
