BBC Newsbeat: NHS staff- 'We're doing the absolute best we can'
17th January 2022
As the NHS is battling the latest Omicron variant, BBC Newsbeat has released an interesting piece looking into the lives of a student paramedic and a junior doctor. Emma Scott-Spivey and Kishan Bodalia both report staff shortages in their hospitals due to coronavirus illness or self-isolation and state that skipping meal breaks working extra shifts is now routine in order to keep the staff afloat.
Our Partner and specialist Medical Negligence solicitor Michelle Armstrong believes:
“ The Coronavirus pandemic is taking it’s toll on the NHS and it’s staff, and with the focus on the pandemic - other important medical services are under significant strain and necessary targets for investigation and treatment are not being met. Although we are immensely proud and supportive of our health care workers, we appreciate that when you are stressed and overworked, mistakes can happen.
Our Medical Negligence team are here to support you when things don’t
go according to plan. Our solicitors are knowledgeable, compassionate
and understanding and can guide you through the legal process at what
can be a very difficult time.”
