For Furlough’s Sake – Furlough Scheme extended to the end of April 2021 with assurances on Government contribution levels:
Perhaps with the end in sight, perhaps because it’s the season of goodwill - Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, has announced a further month extension to the Furlough Scheme, which is now due to end on 30th April 2021, not 31st March 2021.
And there’s more good news: the Government will continue to pay 80% of wages until the end of the Scheme. Happily, this means that there will be no reduction in the Government contribution to wages, which had been anticipated for the end of January 2021.
