A new Treasury Direction on the extended Furlough Scheme issued by HM Treasury to formally extend the Scheme until 30th April 2021.
Some clarity: The calculation for ‘usual hours’ and furlough pay for March and April 2021 should be calculated by reference back to the corresponding months in March and April 2019 and NOT March and April 2020 – this is because many staff will have been furloughed during March and April 2020.
Some good news: the deadline for amending a claim is extended from 15th of the following month to the end of the following month.
N.B. There are not 31 days in April – despite the Government’s title to the document above.
