No Need to Speed

Every 20 minutes, someone is killed or seriously injured on a British road. Speed is a factor in many crashes, with 1 in 5 being caused by speed. That’s why this year’s Road Safety Week, between 16th and 22nd November, focuses on “No Need To Speed”. The campaign is organised by Brake, the road safety charity, who aim to stop the tragedy of road deaths and injuries, make streets and communities safer for everyone, and support people bereaved and seriously injured on roads. As the nights begin to turn darker, it is an important reminder to us all of our responsibility to use the roads safely.

Burnetts Personal Injury team regularly work with people who have been injured on the roads and understand the devastating impact these injuries can have on victims and their families. Our specialist team of lawyers represent those with life changing, multiple injuries and the families of those who have been killed on our roads. We know all too well how speed is a significant factor – a difference of just 1mph can make the difference between life and death. We strongly believe that raising awareness of the importance of road safety is crucial in reducing the number of accidents and we are proud to support this campaign.

Sadly, there are still a huge number of people affected by road accidents every year. If you have suffered serious injury, or lost a loved one, as a result of a road traffic accident then it is crucial to obtain expert legal advice. Our specialist serious injury lawyers work closely with the best medical and accident reconstruction experts to fight for justice for the most seriously injured accident victims. We are the only solicitors in Cumbria to be accredited by Headway, the leading brain injury charity, the Spinal Injuries Association and the UK Acquired Brain Injury Forum. We are also very proud that our personal injury department has been ranked Tier 1 in the prestigious 2021 Chambers & Partners guide.

We provide a complete service and work hard to secure early interim payments to fund specialist rehabilitation packages, obtain aids and equipment and much more. We appreciate that you and your family may also be involved with police officers, criminal litigation and coroners inquests following a road traffic accident. Our serious injury team has the experience and expertise to guide you through these processes and let you know what to expect at each stage.
