Our award-winning Corporate department is looking to strengthen its team with the recruitment of a Corporate lawyer to assist with its continued strategic expansion. We have a rare opportunity for a solicitor to join a Corporate team, described as having a “thriving M&A practice and a reputation for excellence”.
The successful candidate can work from either of our Newcastle or Carlisle offices with the addition of flexible working options.
Who are we looking for?
You will be ideally operating at 3 to 6 years PQE (although we are open to receiving applications from other PQE levels).
You will have strong transactional experience, a commercial approach and the ability to build effective relationships. You will also have experience of the following: -
- assisting on corporate transactions and co-ordinating advice from colleagues in order to achieve transaction aims, and the best results for clients;
- managing and taking the lead on smaller transactions;
- effectively running due diligence and disclosure processes;
- dealing directly and confidently with sophisticated clients, other lawyers and senior professionals;
- prioritising your work to fulfil team objectives; and
- business development, which you will be actively encouraged to pursue.
This is a valued role within an expanding team, with clear opportunities for progression within the firm. You will be involved in a broad range of Corporate work, but principally M&A transactions, joint ventures and shareholders’ agreements. The focus will be advising the team’s roster of business clients on leading M&A transactions, but the team also provides ongoing support for clients requiring governance and strategic advice. This work includes advising on a wide variety of corporate issues including articles of association, shareholders’ agreements and group restructuring. You will have early exposure to market leading transactions working with our high-quality client base.
What do we offer?
