Work Experience Scheme
Work Experience Scheme - Year 12s and 13s only
Our Work Experience Scheme is specifically aimed at Year 12 and 13 students who have identified law as their choice of career.
Year One
Each year we select up to three candidates who have serious ambitions in respect of the law. Selection is by way of formal application plus an interview.
Successful candidates will spend
one week shadowing in our offices at a time convenient to both
parties, usually during the school summer holidays.
To ensure you
get the most from your week we'll give you a thorough introduction to
our business and you'll experience at least five of our departments.
You'll also receive a £25 book token.
In the following September, we will select those who will progress to Year Two of the scheme.
Year Two
If selected you will be invited for further work experience during Year 13 / first year of university and receive a second £25 book token.
Year Three
We will select a number of students who have progressed to a law
course at university to undertake paid summer holiday
work. You'll also have the opportunity to apply for a period of qualifying work experience with us and, if successful, complete your qualification as a solicitor.
Solicitors Apprenticeship
There is a new solicitors apprenticeship which has been launched where you can qualify as a solicitor without going down the traditional full-time university degree route. If this is of interest to you, please get in contact to discuss.
Applications for 2023 are now closed.
For more information and to apply for 2024, please contact Kate Sowerby and submit a CV and a letter of application to yourfuture@burnetts.co.uk. Closing date for applications is Thursday 29th February 2024.
