Mary Poppins – Employment Law Update 2023

Following the success of its last CIPD Employment Law Update – Britain’s Got Talent – our Employment team is back with its next CIPD Employment Law Update and this time the theme is MUSICALS!

Mary Poppins – “A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down…”

In another interactive and engaging event, this session will cover dealing with difficult conversations, top tips on how to create the right culture and retain talent, the art of having protected conversations, family friendly rights and recent trends.

If you want to learn how to successfully fly the kite in dealing with difficult conversations and stay up to date with the ever-changing world of employment law or simply need a refresher or some top tips up your sleeve, then this FREE session will be of benefit to you.

This face-to-face event will be held at: The Auctioneer, Montgomery Way, Rosehill Industrial Estate, Carlisle, CA1 2RW

Managing staff and problems that arise in the workplace can be one of the most difficult tasks a manager or HR professional faces. If only a spoonful of sugar would do the trick to create a happy, problem free workforce! This session will help provide top tips on managing difficult conversations, the common pitfalls and how to prepare for these conversations. We will also look at recent case law, identifying the perils and pitfalls of failing to have these conversations and how this could have been avoided. We will also focus on the importance of creating the right culture within your business and just how this can be possible and the benefits of doing so. As we all know, a happy workplace where the correct culture is adopted is a successful (and profitable) one.

In the spirit of family, as Mary Poppins demonstrates, the session will also cover the latest legislative changes around family friendly leave and what you should know with regards to upcoming changes and trends.

As if that wasn’t enough, we have delved into Poppins bag and we will also have a guest speaker focusing on encouraging talent development, who will provide an overview of some aspirational projects from employers in Cumbria.

Who should attend? HR Managers, HR Business Partners, HR Assistants, Operations and Production Managers who engage with people management issues, and anyone with people responsibility across an organisation.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

You can book your place here.
