Major Trauma Awareness Week 2024

Major Trauma Awareness Week 2024

Join us and help to raise awareness of major trauma and the long term and complex impact it has on people’s lives…

Thousands of people every year experience major trauma. Life-changing injuries can have lots of causes, including road crashes, falls, industrial accidents, suicide attempts and violence. Dedicated teams of professionals work around the clock to save and rebuild lives following the most horrendous injuries.

This week is Major Trauma Awareness Week, which raises awareness of the true emotional and psychological impact of catastrophic injuries, and the long and complex support so many people need.

It aims to:

  • Create a greater understanding of the long-term impact catastrophic injuries have.
  • Celebrate the heroic professionals who work tirelessly to give people the best chance of recovery, from emergency care through to rehabilitation and beyond.
  • Bring together all the fantastic organisations, charities and industry leaders who give people the skills, courage and hope they need to rebuild their lives again.

We’re proud to support Major Trauma Awareness Week. Our Medical Negligence and Serious Injury Partner Paul Brown, who is also Secretary for the UK Acquired Brain Injury Forum, recently supported Day One Trauma Support at its Parliamentary reception and got to hear some truly inspirational speakers including its patron Martha Lane Fox and CEO and driving force Lucy Nickson.

Surviving major trauma is just the start. No one should have to rebuild their life on their own. Find out more about how you can get behind Major Trauma Awareness Week here.
