“With Better Work in Mind” is taking place on Thursday 11th October 2018 from 9am – 3pm at Rheged, near Penrith – the event is a collaboration between Burnetts, Acas, CIPD Cumbria and Carlisle Eden Mind. Proceeds from the conference will be donated to Carlisle Eden Mind.
Tara Quinn, Chief Executive of Carlisle Eden Mind said, “With mental health causing nearly 16 million sick days each year and an annual cost to employers of between £33 and £42 billion, it’s an issue that no employer can afford to ignore. Our four organisations have come together to host a conference which aims to equip delegates with clear and practical guidance on how better workforce mental health can be achieved. Judging by the level of interest, it’s clear this is a topic which resonates with Cumbria businesses.”
Whether caused by problems at home, work or the working environment, the impact of poor mental health amongst the workforce can be enormous: lost working days; poor productivity; low morale; and the risk of legal claims can all affect a business’s bottom line.
The one-day conference will be chaired by Melanie Kinsella, Chair of CIPD Cumbria and will include interactive and engaging presentations from Acas, Carlisle Eden Mind, Burnetts and others. All will focus on how employers can promote better mental health amongst their staff, both for the workers’ benefit and also for the good of the businesses they work for.
The event will begin with optional participation in introductory sessions on yoga with Caroline does Yoga or mindfulness, followed by delegate registration from 10am and with the speaker presentations beginning at 10.30am.
Due to demand, there is a limit of three places per organisation.
The “early bird” rate is £30 plus VAT per delegate until 21st September, after which the cost rises to £45 plus VAT.
