We are proud to announce that Jack Mitchell of our Employment & HR team, Daniel Warwick of our Commercial Property team and Luke Jarvis-Smith of our Dispute Resolution team have completed their training contracts and are now fully qualified solicitors. Jack and Luke joined us at Burnetts in 2019 to commence their training contracts, with Dan joining us a year earlier.
Jack will stay with our Employment & HR team and will provide advice on a wide range of both contentious and non-contentious employment related issues for both employers and employees, including day to day employment and HR related queries, settlement agreements, employment tribunal claims and TUPE advice. Jack graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2017 with a degree in Law with French Law, which included a year at Bordeaux University in France. He graduated from Northumbria University two years later with a Masters degree in Legal Practice. He also worked as a Paralegal in Womble Bond Dickinson's Leasehold Disputes team, assisting in the recovery of service charge arrears.
Dan will stay with our Commercial Property team and Luke will stay with our Dispute Resolution team. Dan will continue to specialise in pensions and advising on freehold and leasehold properties, while Luke will continue advising on matters such as disputes relating to contracts, constructions and directors/shareholders, as well as professional negligence. Dan completed the LPC at BBP Law School in Manchester before moving back to his hometown of Annan to work as a Costs Draftsman at Burcher Jennings. He then went on to join Burnetts as a Paralegal before training to be a solicitor.
Luke attended Northumbria University and studied the M/Law Exempting degree. During his degree programme he provided pro-bono advice for local businesses and charities through the Student Law Office. He graduated in 2018 with first class honours. He then spent a year with Nomad Digital as a Paralegal before joining our Newcastle office.
Our Managing Partner Nick Gutteridge said: “Jack, Dan and Luke are a credit to the firm. They worked to a high standard during their training contracts and we have come to see them as valued members of our firm. We are pleased that they have chosen to stay with their existing teams as qualified solicitors and we appreciate their enthusiasm for both Burnetts and the legal profession.”
