There’s always plenty happening at Honister Slate Mine and this has never been truer than it is at the moment, with their plans for a zip wire having now been approved by the Lake District National Park Authority, and our Commercial Property team has been proud to have played a part in this.

Overseen by our Partner Robbie Mather, the team provided the Honister family with succession planning support, acted on the letting arrangements of Honister for future operations including the new zip wire, and advised on matters regarding The Yew Tree pub at Borrowdale which is also owned by the family.

Prentice Wilkinson-Weir, who owns and runs Honister along with his family said:

“Robbie has been fantastic. We were dealing with multiple issues all integrated somewhat with each other and without the help of Burnetts I think we would have struggled to pull everything together as quickly as we did.

“So a massive thank you from me. I’m looking forward to working more closely with Robbie and the team in the future.”

Robbie said:

“We’re really proud of our work for Honister – a fantastic Cumbrian family-run leisure and tourism business.  It was brilliant to work on a number of different matters for them and really make good use of our specialisms across different legal areas. We wish Prentice and his family all the very best for their future plans.”
