Burnetts Announced as Tourism Awards Sponsor

Burnetts is to sponsor the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year category at Cumbria Tourism’s 2015 awards.

Burnetts is to sponsor the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year category at Cumbria Tourism’s 2015 awards. The awards celebrate the best of Cumbria’s tourism businesses and the individuals behind them.

The Large Visitor Attraction of the Year awards is open to visitor attractions with more than 50,000 visitors per annum, who can demonstrate how investments have improved services for visitors through high standards of facilities, interpretation and customer care.

Burnetts has been a Cumbria Tourism member for more than a decade but this is the first time the firm has sponsored one of the annual awards.

Speaking about the decision to become involved, Burnetts’ Robbie Mather said, “Tourism is such as huge component of the Cumbrian economy that, if you’re in business in Cumbria, you cannot fail to be involved in tourism. Over the last few years Burnetts has been focussed on developing our tourism team. This is the right time for us step up and show our support for the industry and the huge contribution of tourism to Cumbria’s success.”

Other category sponsors include: Colliers International, Lamont Pridmore, Cumberland Business, H & H Reeds Printers, Enterprise Answers, Cumbria Tourism and G1 Creative.

Ian Stephens, Managing Director of Cumbria Tourism, said, “We are delighted that Burnetts are sponsoring the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year category at the annual Cumbria Tourism awards. I would like to thank them for their continuing support as members of Cumbria Tourism and now as a sponsor of our prestigious awards. It is thanks to them and our other sponsors that we can celebrate Cumbria’s achievements in tourism, and go on to compete for national recognition. The awards are financed solely through the generosity of our sponsors and ticket sales. Without this contribution we would not be able to run the competition and host a ceremony that highlights the exceptional tourism businesses we have in Cumbria.”
