Burnetts’ Lawyers Are Tops

Burnetts has consolidated its position as the region’s leading law firm, outranking every other practice in the County according to the number of recommendations in the latest edition of Chambers & Partners UK: A Client’s Guide which is published today.

Nine lawyers from Burnetts have been recognised as Leaders in their Field by the prestigious guide to the legal sector with the firm recommended for its expertise in six areas of law including corporate law, commercial property, agriculture, medical negligence, family and serious injury. Burnetts was top of the Cumbrian rankings in all six sections.

Associate Solicitor Joanne McKenzie (pictured above right) and Partner Amy Fallows (pictured above left) were recognised for the first time. Whitehaven-born Joanne is a specialist in Agribusiness law and lives in Carlisle – the guide describes her as “approachable and friendly.". Amy Fallows, who works from Carlisle and Penrith, is an expert in Family law. Chambers says "Amy represented and supported me through a particularly difficult divorce.”.

Burnetts Managing Partner Nick Gutteridge was recognised again as an “Eminent Practitioner” for his work with brain-injured clients. He said, “Less than a month after our record rankings in the Legal 500, it’s fantastic to see such positive feedback for so many of our lawyers and teams. We continue to be extremely grateful to the clients who took time to take part in Chambers’ research process. We’re not complacent, but we do work very hard to be accessible and responsive for our clients and to support our lawyers in developing areas of specialism - it is very rewarding to see the results being recognised.”

Partners Angela Curran, Robbie Mather, Richard Miller, Simon Mortimer and John Noctor were also recognised along with Senior Associate Diane Barnes.

Chambers and Partners produces an annual guide to the UK legal sector which ranks both lawyers and law firms based on the research of 150 full-time editors and researchers.
