Cumbria First as Burnetts Launches Online Market-Place

Burnetts has become the first law firm in Cumbria to launch its own online market-place, providing downloadable, discounted legal documents to small businesses.

Burnetts’ Market-Place will go live during the Cumbria Expo in Penrith on June 13th. The site, which has a range of products including a social media policy, small employer’s pack and website compliance documents, is designed for small businesses in Cumbria

E-commerce Partner Vaughan Jones said, “Our aim is to be the number one law firm in Cumbria and to achieve that goal, we had to develop an enhanced offering which would be attractive and accessible to small businesses with fewer than 10 employees, since they account for 85% of all the County’s enterprises. Nothing will replace a bespoke legal document, but we know that many small businesses are looking for simplified documents at a cost more in keeping with their level of business. We have to provide a solution which would work for smaller clients.”

As a launch offer, until 31st July 2013, anyone purchasing a Small Employer’s Pack via the Market-Place will receive a free social media policy worth £75.

The documents provided on Burnetts’ Market-Place are guaranteed to be up to date, written by qualified solicitors, legally compliant in England and Wales and at discounted fees.

Anyone who has used Amazon or other online shop will be able to easily navigate Burnetts’ Market-Place: documents are purchased using a virtual trolley and payment is securely handled via Paypal; buyers are then sent a confirmation email with a link to downloadable documents, provided in Microsoft Word. The documents, which include editable fields for personalisation, are available from £35 + VAT.

Vaughan concluded, “Instead of downloading out of date documents which might have been written under US law, small businesses now need go no further than Burnetts. We will be developing the range of documents available as the year progresses so I’d be very pleased to hear from small business owners with their ideas of what they would like to see online. Any suggestions should be sent to marketplace@burnetts.co.uk

The site was developed with the support of Armitage Online in Kendal.
