Former Politician Re-Joins City Firm

A former politician from Workington has re-joined Burnetts to take a leading role in the development of the firm’s West Cumbria office.

A former politician from Workington has re-joined Burnetts to take a leading role in the development of the firm’s West Cumbria office.

An ex-County Councillor, Tracy Stainton comes back to the Carlisle firm from Milburns in Workington.

Tracy trained with Burnetts and had previously worked in Carlisle as part of the firm’s employment law team: she is returning to be Head of the West Cumbria Office, which is based at West Lakes Science and Technology Park, Whitehaven.

Tracy said, “Back in 2005, Burnetts did not have an office in West Cumbria, so I was travelling daily to Carlisle from Workington.  It’s a long commute, especially in winter, so I took the decision to move to a West Cumbrian firm although I had loved my time with Burnetts. I’m really looking forward to working as part of an experienced team and sharing the expertise that Burnetts has with people in West Cumbria.”

Solicitor Tracy is well-known to the area’s business community and has provided legal advice to local businesses on a full range of commercial issues including employment law, company law and property law, as well as providing a service for wills and lasting powers of attorney.

Burnetts’ Managing Partner, Tom Leach said, “Developing services for people who live and work in West Cumbria is a priority for Burnetts and we knew that Tracy, with her strong Workington roots, would be the right person to help us do that. We are genuinely delighted that we have managed to convince Tracy to come back to us.”

Workington born and bred, in her spare time Tracy can be found walking her Tibetan Terriers and supporting Workington Town RLFC.
