Burnetts is to give free legal advice to Cumbrian businesses and individuals following the weekend’s devastation wreaked by Storm Desmond.
The firm, which has offices in Cockermouth, Carlisle and Penrith, is making the offer to anyone in Cumbria who needs advice on flood-related issues.
The offer, which will last at least until 30th April 2016, covers any type of legal support such as advice on leases or tenancies for businesses which need to temporarily re-locate as well as support for householders on insurance claims or employment issues.
Managing Partner Nick Gutteridge said “We want to do what we can to help businesses get back on their feet and to support Cumbrians. Our experience from 2005 and 2009 indicates that the most common issues for residents will be problems with slow insurance companies and rogue builders. This is a no-strings-attached offer of genuine assistance to local people. We will help wherever we can.”
The firm has appointed a team of lawyers to handle enquiries from throughout the county as follows:
Eden / South Lakeland: Rob Winder | 01768 800855 | email@example.com
Carlisle: James Johnston | 01228 552222 | firstname.lastname@example.org
Allerdale / Copeland: Tracy Stainton | 01900 510366 | email@example.com
