New leadership for nationally recognised legal team
The Employment & HR team of a leading Cumbrian law firm is under new leadership.
Partners Natalie Ruane (pictured left) and Joanne Stronach (pictured right) have been appointed Joint Heads of Employment & HR at Burnetts. They will head up a seven-strong team of employment lawyers and HR consultants, the largest such team in Cumbria.
Natalie joined Burnetts in 2003. She lives and works in Penrith and is a Non Executive Director of Penrith Building Society. She said, “It’s an exciting time for the firm and our team in particular. We now have all the right people in place to really expand our client-base throughout the County and to establish our integrated team, beyond doubt, as the go-to people for employers to call when they have an employment law or HR issue.”
Joanne joined Burnetts in 2001 and has been a Partner since 2007. She works across all the firm’s Cumbria offices. She added, “Natalie and I have worked together for over a decade and have a shared vision of how we want to develop the team and the service we provide to clients. We are very much committed to our programme of employment and HR events, which was more successful than ever in 2016. Our expanded team will allow us to extend that programme and develop new services for employers in areas such as immigration law.”
Both Natalie and Joanne are experienced employment lawyers: in 2016 Natalie was praised by The Legal 500 for her specialist work within the schools sector whilst Joanne was recognised for her expertise in supporting clients during claims of bullying and discrimination.
Joanne and Natalie have taken over the reins from Kuba Strycharczyk who remains a Partner at Burnetts and is Head of the firm’s Commercial Services Division.
