Practical focus for Penrith legal briefings

A Penrith law firm has announced a new series of briefings and free surgeries to provide practical support to businesses and residents throughout the Eden Valley.

The latest events’ programme from Burnetts Solicitors in Cornmarket runs from March 2015 and includes sessions to help business owners and managers improve productivity and to deal with difficult working relationships as well as giving an insight into the workings of the Employment Tribunal.

There is a also a series of free, out-of-hours surgeries where appointments of up to 30 minutes are available with legal specialists to talk through concerns about family law, wills and trusts and farming issues.

Employment law Partner Natalie Ruane leads Burnetts’ Penrith office. She said, “This year we’ve focussed our business briefings on HR and employment law, but instead of just telling people what the law is, we’re going a step further and will be showing businesses how that the law applies in a practical way in their organisation. Whilst the sessions will explain the legal framework, the real purpose is to help business owners and managers actually resolve the very challenging problems they face.”

The sessions are all taking place at Burnetts’ first floor Cornmarket office (above Seagraves and Dixon). The business briefings take place 9.30am – 11.00am. The fee per delegate is £15 + VAT. Dates are as follows:

Improving Time Management and Productivity – Thursday 26th March
Managing Working Parents – Thursday 30th April
Managing Difficult Working Relationships – Thursday 28th May
Inside the Employment Tribunal – Thursday 25th June

The free surgeries will be held from 5pm to 8pm on the following dates:

Family Problems – Thursday 24th September
Wills and Trusts – Thursday 29th October
Farming Issues – Thursday 26th November

Places can be reserved by ringing Suzanne Thompson on 01768 800855 or by email to events@burnetts.co.uk. Further information on the content on the sessions can be found at Burnetts' events pages
