Employment Law Support for Businesses
Our Employment Rights Bill Legal Support Package
The Employment Rights Bill, introduced on 10th October 2024, aims to reform UK employment law and will bring some of the most fundamental and challenging changes to employment law that we’ve seen for the last 20 years. Though the changes are unlikely to take effect for another 12 to 18 months, planning and preparation for them is key, particularly with additional budget changes on the horizon. With this in mind our Employment team has put together an Employment Rights Bill Legal Support Package – a bespoke package of practical support for employers to help you prepare for and navigate the forthcoming changes – which potentially include, but aren’t limited to:
- A shorter period to claim the right for unfair dismissal
- Tighter restrictions on zero hour contracts
- Day one entitlement to sick pay
- A new agency to enforce holiday pay entitlement
- The end of fire and rehire
- Liability for third parties who commit acts of harassment against your staff
All the above will have an impact on your policies and procedures and how you manage your business.
Our Employment Rights Bill Legal Support Service starts with a fixed-fee scoping meeting to identify the potential issues for your business, and then leads to our bespoke Package which includes:
- A review of your policies and procedures to ensure compliance
- A review and update of your contracts
- Advice on steps you need to take on performance management
- Training for senior managers to ensure they have the knowledge and confidence to deal with the changes
- Workforce planning and advice on restructures and reorganisations
