Anna Lovett

Anna is a Senior Associate in our Employment team, based in Carlisle.

She joined Burnetts’ Employment team in December 2016, after qualifying as a solicitor at niche employment law firm CLR Law, in Newcastle.

After growing up in Stanwix and attending Trinity School in Carlisle, Anna achieved first-class honours in her MLaw (exempting) degree at Northumbria University, where she was also awarded the Bond Dickinson Employment Law Prize for top marks in her employment law module.

Anna works exclusively within Burnetts' robust Employment and HR team; her role includes advising clients on all areas of employment law, both contentious and advisory. Her main area of work is within the commercial sector and Anna enjoys working closely with businesses to provide practical and solution-focused advice on all HR and legal queries. A key part of Anna's role is working closely with our Corporate and Commercial team to assist companies undergoing mergers or other business transfers, dealing with TUPE matters and any other employment matters arising. Anna is also regularly involved in presenting seminars and workshops on a range of employment topics including employee wellbeing and absence, redundancy and unfair dismissal. These sessions are delivered externally and in-house.

As a member of the CIPD Cumbria Branch, Anna is part of the team which hosts a number of events across the region for HR professionals. Anna is also an active member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Outside of work, Anna enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is an active gym member and enjoys attending new classes. Anna has completed the Great North Run twice and would like to attempt this again in the future.
