George is a Solicitor in the firm's Dispute Resolution team.
George Farrer is a solicitor within Burnetts' Dispute Resolution team, specialising in commercial litigation including disputes related to contracts, construction and shareholders / directors as well as insolvency matters and professional negligence. She joined Burnetts as a trainee solicitor in September 2016 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2018.
A former pupil of William Howard School in Brampton, George graduated with an Honours degree in Journalism at the University of Central Lancashire before becoming a journalist and deputy editor at Living North magazine in Newcastle. She also worked for CN Group, where she was responsible for fashion and interiors content for Cumbria Life and Carlisle Living. After four years in journalism, George studied law at Northumbria University, where she achieved Distinctions in both her Graduate Diploma in Law and Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice and earned the Bond Dickinson Best Performance Award.
In May 2016, George spent a month in Ghana, living and working in an orphanage, teaching in schools and volunteering at the local hospital. She raised money for the school and enabled it to provide desks for the 200 children learning there.
George grew up in Scaleby and currently lives in Stanwix. She runs every day and has completed a number of half marathons including the Great North Run and the Cumbrian Run and Barcelona full marathon. She plays netball for Harraby Netball Club and has a passion for interior design.
George was recently appointed to the Shadow Board of Directors of BECBC, and is a Trustee of The Rock Currock Youth Project.
