Jayne is a Senior Associate in the Medical Negligence and Serious Injury team, based in Carlisle and Cockermouth.
Jayne joined Burnetts’ Medical Negligence and Serious Injury team as an Associate Solicitor in September 2014 and was promoted to Senior Associate in 2017.
A West Cumbrian by birth, Jayne completed her solicitor training in Liverpool, qualifying in 1998. She then practised in London and South East England for 15 years.
Jayne has worked in the field of clinical negligence since she first became a Solicitor and holds a number of well-respected accreditations for her expertise. Jayne is the only Solicitor in Cumbria to be a member of two panels - the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Accreditation Scheme and the charity Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA). Jayne is an accredited Senior Litigator by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).
Jayne has recently been recommended in the Legal 500 Directory which ranks the top 500 law firms in the country as being "very experienced and knowledgeable".
Her experience covers a wide range of cases. Jayne has advised clients on claims arising in all areas of medicine such as delays in diagnosis and negligent treatment in obstetrics, gynaecology, oncology, neurology, cardiology and ophthalmology. She has pursued cases against GPs as well as surgeons, consultants and doctors both within the NHS and within private hospitals. Jayne represents clients who have lost children, parents, spouses and other close family members and clients who have sustained serious life changing injuries requiring care, help and assistance for life.
