Johnny Coulthard is a Solicitor in the Court of Protection and Medical Negligence and Serious Injury teams.
Johnny Coulthard joined Burnetts as a Solicitor in both the Court of Protection and Medical Negligence and Serious Injury teams in September 2016, after qualifying as a solicitor earlier in 2016.
Johnny works within both the Court of Protection and Medical Negligence and Serious Injury teams, supporting clients who have suffered serious injuries and require a court appointed deputy, including those with serious disabilities and brain injuries.
A former pupil of Nelson Thomlinson School in Wigton, Johnny graduated from Northumbria University with an M Law Exempting Degree before completing his Professional Skills Course at the University of Law. As the best performing student in the Northumbria Student Law Office, he received a scholarship and travelled to the USA where he studied at the City University of New York School of Law.
Johnny spent a period training with Irwin Mitchell Solicitors before joining Burnetts. Prior to this, whilst studying for his degree he volunteered weekly at LegaCare, a charity which provides legal advice to people suffering from terminal or life limiting illnesses. Johnny has experience of working within child abuse, medical negligence, serious injury and Court of Protection work.
Johnny lives in Caldbeck with his fiancé, Jessica, and enjoys playing football in his spare time. He has previously played for Carlisle United Centre of Excellence, Workington Reds, Carlisle City and the Cumberland FA.
