Mark Ward

Mark is Head of our Family team.

Mark has over 20 years’ experience in family law . He qualified in 1999 after a career in financial services.

He graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a degree in Economics and Law and undertook his LPC at The Oxford Institute of Legal Practice. He continued his training at a firm in Newbury before moving to the North East upon qualification.

Mark joined us in April 2023, after having worked at Cartwright King as Assistant Head of the Family department, helping to lead a team of 15. Mark has covered all aspects of family work but specialises in financial matters on separation for both married and unmarried couples, as well as children matters.

Mark provides his clients with clear and objective advice that helps them through difficult times and decisions in order to obtain the best outcome for their circumstances. His priority is to reach an early settlement for clients, but in the event that this isn’t possible, he’s also a skilled advocate, experienced in representing clients in Court. He works hard for his clients and takes a constructive approach to finding the best solution whilst fighting their corner.
