
Martyn Wrightson
Practising Consultant
Martyn is a Practising Consultant in the Wills, Trusts and Probate team.
His specialisms include Wills, inheritance tax planning and trusts. He has a particular expertise in complex estate planning for farming families, often advising several generations of a family on Wills, Powers of Attorney and Trusts.
As a life-long supporter of Cumbria's Eden Valley Hospice, Martyn provides pro-bono advice to the charity on legacies, ensuring estates are properly and cost-effectively administered to the benefit of the hospice.
Martyn attended Carlisle Grammar school (now known as Trinity School), before studying for his Law Society exams at Newcastle Polytechnic.
He began work with Burnetts in 1971 and progressed and qualified as a solicitor in 1981. He was made a Partner in 1984 and retired from the Partnership in December 2019.
Outside of work Martyn is a keen golfer.
