Nicola Nutley

Nicola is a Partner and Head of Banking and Property Finance team, based in Newcastle.

Nicola is a banking lawyer and her main area of practice is advising in relation to finance and funding transactions. She has over twenty three years’ experience in dealing with all of the legal aspects of business funding, acting for a range of banks and other lenders, as well as advising corporate borrowers.

Her experience includes drafting and negotiating funding agreements, advising on security structures, drafting and negotiating security documents and generally providing advice on technical company law provisions in relation to funding transactions.

She has experience across all sectors including the funding of property acquisition and development transactions, the funding of corporate acquisitions and funding in the social housing, education and healthcare sectors.

Nicola qualified as a solicitor in 1997. She previously worked for many years at Bond Dickinson and then at Muckle in Newcastle and joined Burnetts in June 2021.

Outside of work, Nicola has two very active sons, so has very little spare time, but she enjoys cycling, travel and cooking.
