Solicitor Rebecca Joy joined Burnetts in 2017 as one of the founding members of the firm’s specialist secured lending team based in Newcastle.
Having grown up in the North-East, Rebecca completed her law degree at Durham University and achieved a distinction in her Legal Practice Course at Northumbria University. She completed her training contract at McKeags in 2007 and now has over a decade’s experience in commercial property and banking finance.
Rebecca’s primary area of expertise is representing high-street banks and building societies lending against the full range of commercial property portfolios and developments. She has also acted on property deals requiring separate representation for both borrower and bank.
As a commercial property specialist, she also advises on sales purchase and leases. The Newcastle property team work together to provide property acquisition, sales and lease advice to pension funds and the individual pension members.
In addition, Rebecca handles high value residential matters and has experience of agricultural property matters, working closely with our team based in Carlisle.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys running and is part of a local women’s running group.
