Sara Devennie
Legal Director
Sara is a Legal Director in our Employment team, based in Newcastle.
She is originally from the North West but went to the University of Hull to complete her Law Degree, then moved to Newcastle in 1998 to take up her training contract at Dickinson Dees. Once qualified, she enjoyed living in Newcastle so much that she decided to stay in the North East.
Sara has specialised in employment law since she qualified and joined our team in October 2022. She advises on all areas of employment law – both contentious and non-contentious - including settlement agreements, contracts of employment, discrimination issues, redundancy, unfair dismissal, maternity and paternity rights, flexible working, restrictive covenants, and disciplinary and grievance procedures. She advises both employers and employees and is therefore able to give balanced and practical advice to all clients. She is regularly involved in presenting workshops and seminars, both externally and in-house, on a range of employment topics.
Sara is a member of the Law Society, Employment Lawyers Association, Employment Tribunal Users Group, Newcastle Law Society, Newcastle Law Society Women Lawyers Division (WLD) and the Industrial Law Society.
Outside of work, Sara is very active and likes to get out in the fresh air, running, cycling or fell walking. She also enjoys swimming and yoga. At the weekend she enjoys spending time with her family.
