Partner Sarah Willshire leads the firm's specialist Banking and Property Finance team based in Newcastle.
Sarah acts for lenders and their customers, taking legal charges over a wide variety of properties. This includes residential portfolios (including HMOs), offices and industrial units, retail units, pharmacies, dental and GP surgeries, care homes, agricultural properties and development sites, including advice on collateral warranties.
Sarah also deals with other security, such as debentures, guarantees, charges over shares and Deeds of Priority or Postponement, as well as drafting facility agreements and variations.
Sarah's clients appreciate her technical legal expertise and the ability to take a commercial view to drive transactions forward.
Sarah, an Oxford graduate, qualified as a commercial property and secured lending solicitor in September 2006. She previously worked at Womble Bond Dickinson and Watson Burton in Newcastle and joined Burnetts in March 2017.
Outside of work, Sarah is married with two children. Her spare time is mostly spent chauffeuring her children to birthday parties and their many out of school clubs and activities. She is a member of a local gym and swims with her family regularly.
