Sophie is a Trainee Solicitor in the firm's Medical Negligence & Serious Injury team.
First-class honours law graduate Sophie Allinson joined Burnetts as a trainee solicitor in September 2016, following a series of work placements with Burnetts throughout her studies.
A former pupil of Ullswater Community College in Penrith, Sophie studied Law at the University of Cumbria, where she achieved her degree with First-class honours and received the Weightman’s Prize for University of Cumbria Student of the Year. Following her graduation, she studied at the University of Law in Leeds towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, where she achieved a distinction. Sophie aims to qualify as a solicitor in September 2018.
Currently working within Medical Negligence and Serious Injury, Sophie’s role includes legal research, drafting documents, attending court hearings and writing blogs for the website.
Sophie grew up in Penrith and is a member of both the Penrith Angling Association and the Association of Lawyers for Animal Welfare. She is the current chair of the Cumbria Junior Lawyers Division.
Sophie maintains links with University of Cumbria, where she provides mentoring and gives talks to the students.
Outside of work, Sophie is interested in wildlife, photography, baking and music.
