Commercial Property Paralegal

We have an exciting new role of Paralegal that we are recruiting for, to support our Commercial Property team in Carlisle on a full-time basis.


Who are we looking for?

The successful candidates will ideally be a law graduate or have worked within a law firm and be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of property matters.  You will assist fee earners within the department and run transactions on case management with close supervision and support.  You will also be involved in working for key clients of the firm and project based/corporate support work.

Daily tasks will include:

  • Initial drafting of documents
  • Liaising with other team members and clients
  • Land Registry – drafting of applications/forms, submitting applications and dealing with requisitions with supervision/support.
  • Registration of charges at Companies House.
  • Drafting and submitting SDLT returns.
  • Post completion – sending documents to the other side, checking Land Registry titles once completed, sending documents to client’s and banks.
  • Using our case management system.

The successful candidate will have a proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude to enable them to work closely with a team of legal fee-earners, paralegals and legal assistants on all aspects of this work, and may have a fee earning target themselves.  The ability to work as part of a team is therefore essential together with excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
